Reasons for Cooking Meat on a Rotisserie

There are reasons to cook meet on a rotisserie especially if you are cooking a large piece of meat. Rotisseries slowly rotate the meat and keep it from overcooking in any one spot. The slow rotation of the rotisserie  keeps the meat moving around exposing different parts to the heat but not for long. Rotisseries move slowly over the heat so the meat will cook but it will not stay in one spot long enough to burn. The entire surface of the cut is heated the same amount leaving it cooked the same all the way around. If a large piece of meat is cooked in an oven the bottom will not be the same as the top part of the roast.

A rotisserie is a grill accessory that you can use over a barbeque or in an oven. A small motor causes a spit to turn after it has been inserted into the appliance. Rotisseries are very useful for cooking chickens, beef or pork roasts and turkey. The meat can be put on the skewer and then left to rotate and cook while other meal preparation goes on. If can be basted easily if you want to add some special flavors to your meal. This is a very good way to barbeque a whole chicken and then baste it in barbeque sauce while it cooks. The meat will stay moist inside while the outside builds up a coating of sauce. The rotation keeps it all from burning.
