Rotisseries and Whole Chicken
A whole chicken on a rotisserie over a
well controlled heat can result in a mouth watering meal
that you will want to repeat often. Rotisseries are
cooking appliances that serve to rotate meat over a heat
source allowing all surfaces to cook evenly without
burning. The rotisserie action seals the meat on the
outside keeping the natural juices of the meal locked
inside. If a large crowd is expected for a special meal
several large rotisseries can cook many chickens or roasts at one
time. The meats can slow cook under the waiting eyes of
people gathered to gather for a barbeque and a fun day.
You may even find a whole side of beef or a suckling pig
on a skewer if the crowd is large enough and hungry
enough for it.
Rotisseries provide an option to roasting large pieces
of meat in a pan in the oven. With this type of cooking
the meat sits in it’s own juices producing a delicious
but different result in the final meal. Very often
vegetables are roasted along side the meat infusing the
flavors all together. A rotisserie does not provide this
option but it offers a meat that can be easily basted
resulting in a different type of flavor infusion.
If you are shopping for a rotisserie or want more
information on rotisseries and
rotisserie recipes the
Internet is a good source for you. You will find they
are often offered as part of a package when you buy a
new barbeque or oven. They are easy to learn how to use
and may add a new dimension to your meal time routine.
